Come celebrate with us – Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival is back!
- As part of the new Moonraking story-telling programme we are opening the Festival with a joyful Moonraking Barn Dance, led by the Moonraker Band.
Gill Bond will call wild dances from different folk cultures and while you catch your breath a cabaret of songs, shadows and stories from around the world will entertain you. - Special guest, Rachel Rose Reid – Young Storyteller of the Year 2007.
- Also featuring CVHS Global Splinter Singers.
A delightful evening for all ages.

Tuesday 12th February - Satellite Arts Present - Tale Traders
- Enter the magical world of Frank and Daphne’s Market Stall where stories are told using a wonderful array of objects. A collection of imaginatively told tales with music, magic and mayhem. Suitable for children and their families.
- Venue: The Watershed, Bridge Street
- Times: 2 performances – 10.30 – 11.30 and 1.30 – 2.30
- Tickets: £5 for adults and £3 if you are under 16.

Wednesday 13th February - Tunes and Tales
- Stories and songs to chill out to.
This is an ‘Open Mic’ event and you are invited to tell us a tale, sing a ballad or a song, set us a riddle or tell a joke. Come along – make the evening your own with help from: - Taffy Thomas CBE - legendry story-teller and raconteur. Taffy is the grand master of telling tales! An original performer, not to be missed.
- Noah and Ruby – local music duo extraordinaire, eclectic songs with a cool vibe. Real ‘feel good’ sounds
- Venue: The Watershed, Bridge Street
- Time: 8pm
- Non alcoholic refreshments will be available, and you are welcome to bring your own beer and wine.
- Tickets: £3 on the door (Open-Mic participants – free)
- The Watershed, located in Bridge Street in the centre of Slaithwaite is a newly converted weaving shed now fully open as an exciting participatory arts centre.

- Taffy Thomas - Tale Coat
The Tale Coat is a unique working piece of art. The Coat is worn and members of the audience are invited to treat it almost as a jukebox by pointing to an image on the coat and saying, "We'd like to hear that story."
